Great, go for it! Noticed a difference within 3 days, (limb and joint pain were my main symptoms) Could move more freely and pain drastically improved. Have since had to increase dose to a 50 mcg patch as symptoms began to show again few months later, but that was over a year ago and I plan to stay on them for as long as possible. Good luck

ThePinkOwl · 11/02/2022 22:46

Late 40s and on 50mcg eostrogen patches (I have a mirena coil for the progestrone bit). Been on them for about 6 months now. Have noticed improvement in sleep, anxiety, tiredness and sweating. Hasn't done much for my mood and aches and pains. Can't have everything I guess? I'm grateful for the benefits though. Especially the tiredness. Can't be nana napping and trying to hold down a job!

BOOTS52 · 11/02/2022 23:03

Am 52 and starting next week. Still have regular periods in peri meno for years and feel exhausted, insomnia and just crap. My male doctor would not barely discuss it so arrogant as my sis said he has testicles so he does not give a crap. So went to the WellWoman Clinic and they have been fantastic. Was initially given estrogen patches but chemist said is and will be a shortage on them and having to remember to do every few days and will they stick etc, I went back and got the gel which I will apply daily, it comes in individual sachet so easier I hope than worrying about a patch sticking, supply not there in chemist. I am very anxious starting but feel drained and lost my mojo so hope it does help, can take few mths to see real improvement. Wishing you luck and check out gel versus patches.

I’ve had the patches for about 6 months now and just feel so much better.

I’d never been an anxious person but kept getting awful anxiety. Getting a good nights sleep was rare and so I was constantly tired. My joints ached and basically I just felt low. I’ve never (touch wood) had hot flushes or many of the other symptoms.

Now I’m on patches, I sleep really well, don’t get those anxious feelings and just feel a much happier person.

I was also prescribed the oestrogen pessaries.

I’d encourage any woman to give it a try. What’s to lose?

Hi could I ask what strength of estrogen patch you're on please? I started on 50, increased to 75, but now have joint pain back & don't feel right, feels most symptoms are back. Can I ask which patches too please & if you found 1 better over another brand? TIA
Downtherefordancing · 23/03/2022 07:58

Hi @Chandimum
Sorry for delay replying.

My HRT patches are 50mg and the brand is Evorel Conti.

The pessaries are from Vagifem and are 10mg.

I honestly think I would fight anyone that threatened to take them off me 😁

lockdownrainbow · 03/04/2022 13:26

I've just finished my first box of patches, (one month) mine are Evorel 50 Sequi and I sooo wish I'd gone for it a couple of years ago.
I felt completely exhausted the entire time so I felt like I was literally dragging myself across the room.
Couldn't sleep (I was getting maybe 3 hours sleep every night if I was lucky).
I ached all over, my joints were throbbing non stop, felt so so low, weepy, brain fog.
Such heavy bleeding that I couldn't leave the house for 3 or 4 days of my period nor make any plans, often just sitting on the loo for 10 mins at a time with blood gushing out (sorry for tmi)
I was basically not functioning as a human being, etc... I felt like my life was over. I can honestly say that within a week of starting the patches I felt like my old bouncy self again. By the way I'm coming up to 49 and was still having fairly regular periods. I would say go for it, what have you got to lose ?! Good luck and I hope your symptoms are eased. ♥️

I'm on Everol conti and Everol 25 patches. Started off on just the conti which worked for a while, but have recently added the 25 patch as symptoms were starting to creep back in. I'm sleeping better, hot flushes have gone, but my joints, especially my knees, are still painful.

crossstitchingnana · 02/03/2023 08:16

I started patches last week, weekly ones, and I can't keep the buggers on my skin. First lasted 3 days this second one is peeling after 24 hours.

Any tips?

Comeback25 · 02/03/2023 14:07

I've been on Everol Conti patches for over 5 years. Changed my life. Sweats stopped, brain fog went, slept better. I stick them on alternate thighs near knicker line.

crossstitchingnana · 02/03/2023 17:20

Thanks

Redtuliproo · 02/03/2023 18:13

I'm on Evorel Sequel. Just started two weeks tomorrow. My anxiety has disappeared and hot flushes. I've also lost 3lb in weight. I'm truly amazed at how much better I feel.

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 02/03/2023 18:23

Vag dryness = consider asking for a cream or pessary; I found patches did nothing for my vag but Ovestin has been a gamechanger

Mary46 · 02/03/2023 19:25

Hi op Im on Evorel 50. No amazing changes. Was tired and sore joints he gave me Vitamin D tabs has really helped me. Some find patches amazing.. my mood is calmer.

@crossstitchingnana try surgical tape or adhesive waterproof coverings that are used to cover newly inked tattoos. I bought some from Amazon and they do the trick (a tip though, the waterproof covering is like sticky back plastic so practice a bit before you use it on your patch - I ended up having to throw a new patch away because it all went wrong).

Jellycatspyjamas · 02/03/2023 20:19

I’m on the Evorel 50 patches and have been for about a year, they’ve been lifesaving in terms of steadying my mood and increased energy levels. I’m due a review soon and might need to increase my dose because symptoms are coming back but apparently that’s not uncommon. No problems with them sticking either.

PinotPony · 02/03/2023 20:45

I'm on Estradot 75 for the past 9 months. Has reduced my symptoms but I find them a bit annoying. I forget to change them, they sometimes won't stick, and I'm covered in adhesive squares.

Thinking of switching to a gel pump instead...

tinkywinkysaysitsinconvenient · 02/03/2023 20:46

I was badly allergic to the glue in the patches, so the GP switched me to the gel. It is brilliant, should you need to know this!

Starling57 · 04/09/2023 17:00

Hi, I’m about to start HRT patches. Bit nervous about it but like a few have said - what’s to lose? Usual symptoms but dry ‘down there’ 🙄 is bad. Causing some stomach pain and UTI infections. Anyone know if the patches will help this? Also weight gain - is it just something you have to accept will happen on HRT? I’ve just lost a stone and a half and want to keep it off!

Florida2020 · 12/03/2024 15:20

Hi folks,
Has anyone been on Everol Conti 50 and came off them? I have been on HRT for about 4 years now and wonder if I should come off them, not sure they are helping anymore. Have increased dose but that makes me feel worse, sore boobs, headaches etc. My doc says it's negligible if they work now as I have been in menopause over 10 years. She reckons I may have come through it now.

florida2020 I came off the patches because I felt they'd stopped working too about 7 years ago (now 58) a year ago my doctor suggested I should perhaps go back on them because I now have Osteoporosis but within a day I was getting gallbladder pain (had gallstone problems in the past) so I stopped. I would definitely recommend taking an oestrogen pessary if you're not already on them. If you're not getting any bad side effects from your old prescription I would carry on using the patches as a preventative for your bones if the doctor is willing, you might feel like there not doing much but you don't know until you stop

Mary46 · 12/03/2024 16:19

Can be positive for most op. Didnt suit me at all angry boils and cysts flared up. Sleep not great. Doctor agreed maybe not for me. Tried patches. They bit fiddly

Comeback25 · 12/03/2024 20:28

I have been on patches 10 years and refuse to come off them due to the benefits health wise. I am 59.
