As above! On as Friday night its just DH and I...we usually have something that can be eaten off our knees in front of a film, such as:

  • pizza
  • fajitas
  • steak sandwich
  • kebabs

but we've had these recently and I can't think of anything else!

What are you all having for dinner tonight?

Chicken and veg curry made with a jar from Aldi that has powder and sauce.

Pilau rice made with Schwartz pilau seasoning.

We're having creamy tomato, & chicken pasta with garlic bread & olives. Super easy recipe

Chop chicken breasts into bite size pieces.
Soften diced onion in olive oil, add in a couple of grated cloves of garlic.
Add the chicken & cook for a few mins. Season well. Add in the jar/ carton of pasata & the double cream. Add black pepper & fresh basil. Put a lot on the pot & simmer till the chicken is cooked through.
Serve with pasta such as penne. Grate loads of fresh parmesan on top & with garlic bread & olives on the side
Comfort in a bowl!

What do you have that you need to use up?

We're having spanakopita tonight to use up all the random bits of greens that are in the fridge. Tomorrow a stew with chicken thighs and Moroccan spices, to use up the mix of root veg left in the cupboard.

AnotherMansCause · 11/02/2022 14:58

I’m having quinoa with harissa & preserved lemon, falafels, & salad. DH & DD are having soup & bread.

Lovely ideas here. DCs are having frankfurters and vegetable sticks. I am having chicken in a mushroom sauce with new pots and asparagus and DH is out.

ButWhereDidTheWindComeFrom · 11/02/2022 15:01

Yaki Udon.

This is absolutely amazing. So flavoursome and only takes 15 mins tops to make. Buy some spicy crackers to go with it. My teen loves it.

CurryLover55 · 11/02/2022 15:14

DH & I are having Asda lamb rump steaks in garlic & rosemary with new potatoes roasted in olive oil & rosemary plus fine beans.

CurryLover55 · 11/02/2022 15:17

NailPolishRemover your recipe sounds lovely. If I was making it for 2, what amounts would I use?

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 11/02/2022 15:18

We are having an impromptu chippy tea. Children will have mix of sausage chips / nuggets and chips.

DH and I will share a fish dinner so fish chips and mushy peas. I'm on slimming world so will take the batter off the fish to make it free and the peas are free too and I'll probably get some boiled.rice also free and sneak some of DH chips

emuloc · 11/02/2022 15:42

Home made chips and lamb burgers. Serve with a nice salad or corn on the cob.

Acunningruse · 16/02/2022 15:27
