How much for this front door?

Fordian · 11/02/2022 12:05

Can anyone tell me how much they would expect to pay for these type of front doors (door and panel beside it?).

The door is a standard width and is on a 20 year old standard 'estate' house.

Thanks

The right hand one looks more expensive.

I would say £3.5-£4k but wouldn't be surprised if it was £5k

MeatPieWoman · 11/02/2022 12:08

Around £1,800 to £2,000

£1000 including frame which has one panel of glass either side of the door

I've got that exact front door (I hate it) and it was five grand according to the builder. Mine has a window on both sides. The door ram proof apparently. I've just painted it with Frenchchic to try and make it less office like.

I had a quote last year for a door exactly the same as the first photo - £1,900

JustWonderingIfYou · 11/02/2022 12:19

They look cheap, not solid wood but composite.
I'd say 1500 incl. Panel plus fitting.

ShallWeTalkAboutBruno · 11/02/2022 12:20

We recently had our front door plus side panel done plus back door and it was £2.8k. Ours wasn’t that style but based on our price I’d say £1.8k?

singleBoysTo2MummiesXX · 11/02/2022 12:21

bloody expensive that!!! Wink i’d pay about a fiver at mostGrin lovely door though!!!!!!!!!!

Mychitchatdays · 11/02/2022 12:22

Composite £2400

SierraHotelIndiaTango · 11/02/2022 12:27

I paid around £2500 mid 2018 local respectable company in SE on a 20 year old house ( no side panel though )
So add £ ? for increase in costs plus a side panel ?

We paid around £1200 for a new composite front door over a year ago without the side panel and I thought that was bad but they had to take out the bricks above and refit! Where are people based to have quotes so high?

LtMoose · 11/02/2022 12:40

I honestly never knew doors were so expensive!!

singleBoysTo2MummiesXX · 11/02/2022 12:44

wow

frazzled101 · 11/02/2022 12:54

Composite doors are between £2k-£2.5k, I was shocked!!

Fordian · 12/02/2022 16:02

Thanks. I wanted to get a ballpark figure.

Don't know if it's just the light in the photo but the first one looks to be composite and the second one might be solid wood. There is a big jump in price between composite at about £2k and acoya wood at about £5K for the second one.

Fordian · 12/02/2022 19:06

It's appearance. We'd go composite.

Our Solidor and side window, fitted, was £2.5k last year
