Pregnancy hormones have made me allergic to social media !!

So I'm in bed with severe pregnancy sickness anyway, ( which might be why I'm posting so much on Mumsnet....)

However, i've noticed as well as odd cravings, ( craving strawberries and orange juice...) I am becoming allergic to the point of nauseated by FB/IG.

So many people are now "livestreaming," video's of their night out. I went out with my friend for her birthday lunch at the weekend, ( albeit I wasn't feeling well anyway), and she spent the whole time taking various videos of the restaurant, her birthday ice cream etc. It all seems so fake.

The videoing your lunch/ night out trend is jsut making me nauseous.

I swear it feels so "intrusive," somehow, and is developing a generation that are obsessed by their image ?

I can't think it can be helpful for young people's mental health at allx

I think it's the "fake," nature of it, the showing off and the "living for the likes," mentality.

Tried again today with instagram and still felt nauseous and irritated so had to stop.

Perhaps try listening to some podcasts instead?
