Hi
Posting for friend , honestly, that has to leave one rental property at end of march but can't get into next until begin may , so april not covered.

So , assuming that these dates can't be renegotiaed what solutions might the be ?

If in had room is help out but I am at total capacity.

No relatives near by.

Need to keep costs to a minimum.

My thoughts are "stuff" in storage, not sure how much that would cost tbh.

Air b and b is crazily expensive , even thought of premier Inn . , Static caravan ?
Any ideas MN ???
Am I missing some great "truck"

Property rentals do a longer let for less money off season ...worth asking...

Google short term lets...☺️

Ask on their local FB groups. I see a reasonable number of this sort of requests coming up on ours, and there always seems to be a few offers. Local residential type caravan park comes up a lot and is way cheaper than a Premier Inn

This is a bit off the wall - but are you in a theatre town??

They often have lists of houses that take short term lodgers ie put up the actors coming to town for a show. That might work if someone's got a gap!

I took an fairly bottom of the range off-season holiday cottage on a farm for a greatly reduced rate for 8 weeks between homes. I would suggest a static caravan or air bnb but negotiate a lower rate for the whole period. Stuff in storage or if your friends have good friends with garages, perhaps worth asking them.

It was winter by the way. Might not work as the year goes on.

Awkward time of year as it's got Easter holidays in it. Air B&B, static caravan on a site nearby? Friend's garage for storage if possible...

This happened to me some seventeen years ago - absolute frigging nightmare. I think travelodge and things in storage is probably your best bet.

We rented a holiday home on the grounds of a hotel. Thankfully it was out of season

Is she actually being evicted by the bailiffs in March? If it's just the date the landlord has asked her to leave on she could keep paying rent and stay until May. Not ideal but if she can't afford or hasn't got an alternative it's an option.

MelTem43 · 10/02/2022 20:54

Ask the landlords if they have any other houses they could use for a short term let. Also try spareroom..co.uk. It's not just shared places you can search for whole occupation.

I know someone who hired a caravan on a very nice holday park for two months in the springtime. They got a discount as it was such a long let.
