This made me cry a bit. I don't have children and it made me think how I have to be the very last in a long, unbroken chain of mothers and daughters (as we all must be).

Exactly what I thought.

That's lovely but it makes me sad for my mitochondrial DNA, passed down from mother to daughter generation after generation and now dead-ended with me and my boys.

I absolutely loved it, especially the way she describes her teenage daughter. So relatable and put into words perfectly.
