Passport application

I just wondered if anyone has recently renewed their passport online and roughly how long you waited for it? Also was there a delay between the passport office receiving your old passport and updating the application tracking online, mine still doesn’t say they’ve received it but it was signed for last week

Mon 23th applied and docs posted
Tue 24th Royal Mail docs signed for
Mon 31st docs acknowledged
Mon 7th approved and posted
Today - arrived

17 days. Quite nerve wracking though!

Give them a call. We recently applied. I gave them a call, and couldn't believe how quickly I spoke to a real life human. They were incredibly helpful.

Entirely different to the nightmare of trying to speak to DVLA.

Applied 2 weeks ago online from abroad. Quoted time 11 weeks. Took 9 days after courier had delivered old passport to receive email confirming receipt. Back in Sept for a UK application I think the quoted time was 6 weeks. Took 7 days after Special Delivery had delivered old passport to receive the acknowledgment and I think 4 weeks from then to receive new passport. I bloody hope this one takes less than 11 weeks.

Did take ages for update to say old passport received after Royal Mail said signed for but after that very quick and new passport received within 3 weeks of application. Very easy.

Got mine back (straightforward renewal) just over a week after I posted it.

3 days - renewal child to adult passport

Tuesday applied online and posted next day delivery that afternoon
Wednesday email to say passport received
Thursday email to say passport approved and being printed
Friday received by lunchtime

Was super impressed

Posted Saturday arrived following Friday - that was 2 weeks ago. I could not believe how quick it was.

I send mine off on Jan 16th and it was returned on Monday this week.

Passport office has just acknowledged the old passport signed for last Thursday so hopefully we’ll have the new one next week!

Just got an email through asking for someone to confirm my identity... which I've already sent them and shows on the tracking 🙄

I was just wondering what was the outcome was for other’s applying for a British passport outside the UK for their child? We are applying for our son’s UK passport (he was born in Australia). My son’s father and his parents are all British and have supplied their original documents birth certificates, marriage certificate , however my parents (maternal grandparents they are both born in Australia) refuse to give me their original documents. Does anyone know if the passport will get declined because of this?
