DS is 11. He is autistic, he lives in shorts so his knees are always battered. From running around, riding his bike - he fell off the other day and scraped and bruised his knees quite badly. He also hits the back of his legs on the Oswald sometimes.
He also gets mild bruises from other rough and tumble. Thrashing himself around.
His legs are covered in bruises at the minute but very normal looking bruises imo. 3 large Ian ones and a few smaller ones.
School haven't mentioned it.
We have a new support worker as DS's anxiety is through the roof since having covid a couple months ago and other things going on! He's really struggling and showing signs of ocd.
We've met the support worker a couple times in the last week and she's asked DS about his bruises and where they come from. Thing is DS doesn't feel pain much so probably wouldn't know where he got the bruises from.
I know they have a duty of care but leg bruises are normal right? You can see the grazes to go with the bigger ones!!
She's probably more suspicious of the ones on the back of his leg form it's from where they hit the pedal on his bike when his feet slip off. He's always had them with bike riding!
Now I'm panicking she's thinking he's abused or something and will report to social services.
The school have never raised concerns even though he's had some very colourful bruises over the years including facial bruises when he's ran into stuff!
