I am inquisitive to learn why many are rude to delivery drivers?
Many drivers are simply providing for loved ones or themselves, in these hard times.
There definitely is a clear distinction between Genders.
Attrition is very High, but also the earnings is high and management right to the top level are aware, but its like fighting a forest fire.
The Truth is that "Management" respects its workers than a complaining Customer, who is being Unreasonable, and I mean Unreasonable.
Truth
Once a line has been crossed, we go into "DCM" Don't Care Mode and Passive aggression kicks in.
We pretend we care, if you are unreasonable.
On a Personal Basis threats of violence have occurred, and to be honest, that person has been Blacklisted.
If you are shy and nervous around people or being assertive, then Be a delivery driver 😉
The Comrade is great amongst fellow colleagues and management.
Its almost like a Black humour, I guess the same as people who work in an undertakers.
Other Side of the Coin
We have some wonderful customers, who realise what we do, is tough and even at our peak times are very reasonable.
If we like you, we go out of our way to help you and make your life more enjoyable.
In our business, we have wastage, and when this happens, "Me Personally" does not allow it, and will collect the items for people who I know that are on Low income and struggling.
If you are one of those people who can Justify being obnoxious to a fellow Human, please think again.
ps My earnings pays for 2 employees, to provide for their loved ones.
