Why does he do this? (Cat issue)

Please help me. Cat (12 yo male) is suddenly obsessed with sitting in the garden, rain or shine. He barely comes inside to eat and is just constantly sitting on the deck chairs. It's pretty cold and I have to carry him inside and give him his favourite food to eat as he doesn't come in on his own volitipn.

We have seen a big fox a few times and it has once come in through the cat flap and ran away when DP chased it out. I am not sure this is a related incident as we see foxes regularly in the garden and they are on cordial terms with the cats.

He has never been a normal cat and is a little crazy and gets obsessed with things, but I am worried about him getting pneumonia or something. He is incredibly headstrong and has previously refused to eat (a few years ago) and had to be taken to the hospital so I can't trifle with him too much.

Any ideas?

He wont catch pneumonia if he has shelter, I would remove the deck chairs and put something like a kennel out there which he can sit in to keep warm and dry.

No ideas to offer but it may be an idea to get him checked over by a vet

I’d also suggest a vet. Are there any other changes? When one of my older cats started doing things like this, it was one of the first noticeable signs of feline dementia.
