Pre payment electricity meter

Wondering if this is happening to anyone else?

Basically my electricity meter is on and we have power, however, the screen is blank (lit up but blank)

No idea if any money that goes onto the key actually goes on to the meter?

Terrified I'm running up huge debts!!

I've never experienced this but I imagine it will be going on to the meter. If it wasn't then your electricity would have cut out when it reached £0.

This happened to me. I would phone your energy provider as soon possible as it needs replaced.
Unfortunately mine happened during lockdown and engineers were unable to come to the house and i ended up getting a huge bill.
