Outlook/Office Stalking Questions..

Random questions of the day -

I work a 0 hours variable hour contract so am not paid to work everyday. I do like to look at my emails and see what's there though.

  • If I log onto office to look at my emails - can other people see that I am available?

and more importantly...

  • If I read an email, can the person who sent it see I've read it? I'd quite like to read it but not feel I need to action it until a "work" day without them thinking "why hasn't she replied?"

On Outlook, they can only see you read it if they send a read receipt and you acknowledge it. Otherwise, no.

That's what I was trying to work out.

So definitely not a read receipt but googling seemed to suggest there was a setting so they would know. But wasn't sure if that was a setting or another piece of software. Or if I am completely missing something.

I really don't want it to look like I'm not responding while also only being paid a few hours here and there!
