Where is my sodding period?

It’s two weeks late which is very odd for me. Have done a pregnancy test- negative. What else can make it so late?

Could be earlyish menopause I suppose (I’m early 40s) but isn’t that a longer process? You don’t just go from regular cycles to nothing overnight.

Mine was late after my Covid booster, but just for one cycle. It went back to normal the following month.

I was really regular then one month didn’t have a period for 40 days (aged 36), think it was a random one off where I maybe didn’t ovulate until late. All been regular since.

Akite · 07/02/2022 07:20

Could be peri, it's not that it goes from regular to nothing overnight but it does go from regular to very irregular overnight in my experience! I started in my early 40s and went from every 28 days to sometimes 3 in a month sometimes one every 4-6 months.
Have you had a covid jab recently? That could also be a cause of change

In my mid 40s and mine arrives when it feels like it, last one was the week before Xmas but for me the last few years 6-8 week gap in between isn't that unusual

You can do, I'm afraid. Well - not nothing, but fairly lengthy delays. Can happen with the peri menopause, which lasts for a few years before the menopause itself.

If you've had covid (or in fact any infection/virus/illness) recently that can also cause delays and changes to your period too, as is more likely to when you are a bit older iirr. The covid vaccine can also have temporary changes and delays to your cycle too.

I went from from regular to nothing overnight.I was early 40s as well, it is rare but obviously does happen to some of us.

Did you get your period in the end @BoswellsBuddy??

I am also 41 and a week late for the first time ever in my life and now starting to freak out. My last period last month came extra early and now nothing since 6th of Feb.

My DS have been having flu/covid symptoms these past two weeks and I was also feverish for a day or two. So didn't know a viral infection could throw it off like @Abraxan said?

Have also had an iron infusion earlier this month due to being anemic and broke out in hives on my arms at the end of the infusion, was abit tired after that. So don't know if also affected my cycle?

Could it also be the beginning of Peri? I've been having a headache these last two days and some on/off spotting so really hoping it will arrive and put me out of my misery.

I’m mid 40’s and my periods are very irregular now, so much so I’m thinking of going on the pill
