Uptight
For Once In My Life
Sir Duke
Another Star
Lately

@SummerOfComedy

As.

The long version.

Always hear the George Michael version on the radio, but never Stevie's.

'As' ...simply beautiful Also love a song that featured Stevie Wonder, 'The Crown'.

hivemindneeded · 07/02/2022 08:14

Sir Duke is one of the best songs ever.

WeaverofWords · 07/02/2022 08:15

Sooooo many!

Yesterme Yesteryou Yesterday
Superstition
Part Time Lover

And what about - even though it’s a bit dodgy now - Ebony & Ivory with Paul McC? Beautiful chords in that one.

I love Isn’t She Lovely 🥰 awwww

Who remembers I Just Called? Shame about the naff chorus on that one cos the rest of the words/theme are great.

Jammin also brilliant (is it called that?!)
Oh and I forgot As!

I’m a big fan. Hmm wonder if he will tour again? Did you know he wrote his first song aged 11?!

KaptainKaveman · 07/02/2022 08:18

Do I Do. Absolutely unbelievable record. Goosebumps, hairs on back of neck, the works - every time!

The Crown was credited to Gary Byrd and the GB Experience and was a collaboration with SW. The 12" single goes on forever.

Lately, beautiful song.

Shikamiri · 07/02/2022 18:23

Superwoman. I can feel it in every fibre of my body and it got me through lockdown 2020

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 07/02/2022 18:28

Another star. It always makes me feel really summery!

PlanetNormal · 07/02/2022 18:49

My mum bought Songs in the Key of Life when it came out, and it became one of the soundtracks of my childhood. It was a masterpiece then, and is still as masterpiece now. It’s so difficult to narrow it down, but my favourite Stevie tracks would be :

Higher Ground
As
Sir Duke
Superstition
I Wish

I Just Called to Say I Loved You was by far Stevie’s biggest hit in the U.K., and it’s a small tragedy that this nauseating saccharine ditty is the song for which he is best known here.

LoveMyPiano · 07/02/2022 18:55

@Ridingthegravytrain

Saturn!
I love "Saturn" too (..."Where the rings all glow, rainbow moonbeams and orange snow......on Saturn, where people live to be two hundred and five....")

My all time favourite though is, "If it's Magic"; His voice is perfction, and the lyrics bringa lump to my throat....

I can see I will be playing Songs in The Key of Life tonight.

OhWhyNot · 07/02/2022 18:56

I had 12’ Jazz Funk album had The Crown, Walking on Sunshine, White Lines and I think three other songs as they did go on Grin
