Boring question - best vacuum?

Our vacuum is dying (RIP).

We would like to buy new one, specifically one that's:

  • bagless (as it seem environmentally sound to be constantly using new bags - unless I've misunderstood how bags work); and
  • not upright (as we have lots of stairs).

Can anyone recommend a model? Ideally under £200.

Thank you!

Sorry - DOESN'T seem environmentally sound. And sorry for other typos above

We have a shark upright which has a lift away for the stairs although we live in a bungalow so can't particularly comment on how well it works. We really like it but I know some don't.

My friend much prefers her Miele to the shark she bought, but I think it has a bag. I'm not sure if there are bagless options.

We have a shark and much prefer it to a dyson.

We have had dyson uprights and cordless and the shark is much better. I wouldn't get a cordless again, waste of £500 Angry

Thanks all. I'm not considering a cordless, don't worry - my cleaner says they're rubbish. She said to get a Miele bagged one, but I'd rather get bagless. Has anyone used the bagless Miele one? Blizzard CX1 £289 (ouch)
