Why are some sold prices removed from Rightmove?

There was a house on sale which was sold a couple of years back on a street I was interested in. It sold for X amount.

Another house is up for sale on the same street and I went to check the sold house prices on that street and the first house I was interested in - the data is not there at all.

I did manage to find the sold price on other websites but it has been removed from Rightmove.

I have also noticed this with another house too.

How have they done this? I want to do it too!

I believe if it's part of an estate after death?

JuergenSchwarzwald · 06/02/2022 14:50

I thought it took a few months for the sold prices to show up? You can get the info from the Land Registry for a small amount (£3?) if it's not on the public websites. For some reason you get the odd house that doesn't show up - I noticed this with my father's house which sold in 2005 so ample time for it to be there!

The bigger pity is that the photos of houses are being removed so you can't have a nose anymore :(

I think it doesn't come up for about 3 months after the sale is completed

I sold my house at the end of June last year and the price still hasn't come up on Rightmove. Maybe they are a year behind?

FourFourthsDontCare · 06/02/2022 16:16

Probably because the property owner has requested their removal. Rightmove, Zoopla and the rest are obliged to remove property details if an owner or their estate agent requests. It’s pretty common around where I live.

I've noticed this.
We bought a flat years ago and our purchase is no longer visible on Rightmove, it used to be.

I believe there have been delays in the official publication sold house prices. Used to be 3 months but currently catching up on covid backlogs.

I find this site one of the quickest to add new data.
houseprices.io/
It's not fancy but useful when you get used to it. I think real price change taking account of inflation is an interesting perspective.

Totalwasteofpaper · 06/02/2022 16:44

The prices also do not show if they house is bought through a company

shilohh · 06/02/2022 21:23

One of the houses definitely wasn't part of a death estate, or bought by a company and it was bought 3 years ago. It was on the website after a few months and then completely disappeared from the sold prices list.
The info can be found on other sites but not Rightmove.

FourFourthsDontCare can people just request for their info to be removed.

shilohh - yes, they can although I think they probably need to provide proof that they own the property.

IDontHaveThePelvisForAFuton · 07/02/2022 09:02

There's a property in my area with a sold price of £1. What's that all about?

I love a good nose at sold prices Blush

Rightmove won’t remove sold prices but will remove photos etc at owners request
From rightmove website
