Are family children usually invited to a baby shower?

Just that really.
Child is 4, it's her aunts baby shower, being hosted at childs Nans house. It's an afternoon tea sort of thing. We're a close family.

(My gut is that a baby shower is a family friendly occasion and I had children at mine, but I also think weddings are family friendly occasions which I know others don't!)

Depends on the host really, I’ve been to some where children aren’t invited or expected and one where the host didn’t mind. More often than not I’d say no though.

HippeePrincess · 06/02/2022 10:18

No not unless specifically invited

HelloDulling · 06/02/2022 10:19

No, I don’t think so. It’s for the woman and her female friends, plus mum/sisters. I’ve only been to one, though.

Generally, no.

But obviously depends on the individual and what they want.

Could go either way. What did the person who invited you say? If unclear ask child's Aunt and Nan what suits.

Tibtab · 06/02/2022 10:22

If it was a baby then I would assume they could come, but older than that I would presume not. Assume the 4 year old would get bored if there are no other children about.

Legomania · 06/02/2022 10:23

All the ones I've been to were adults only celebrations

DiddyHeck · 06/02/2022 10:24

Totally depends on the family/friends so I expect there isn't a 'usual'.

Doomscrolling · 06/02/2022 10:24

No, not unless they’re tiny babies.

curiousgop · 06/02/2022 10:38

Thanks all, seems like the consensus is no unless specified otherwise.

AlwaysLatte · 06/02/2022 10:41

The ones I've been to had small children but not older ones
