As above! Started back the gym. Love it but can only go twice a week to classes due to childcare. However I was always slim and happy around 9 stone. Now I'm 10 stone 2! I literally cannot stop eating shite. I love chocolates so much and I just eat them all the time! how do you stop ?!?

How old are you?

Peri menopause (oestrogen deficiency) can make you crave carbs

MarshaBradyo · 04/02/2022 15:00

Go low carb and cut the sugar spike and craving

Bonheurdupasse · 04/02/2022 15:01

Try- as hard as you can- not to buy them.
I literally eat everything nice i have in the house (sweet, crisps, even toast sometimes) so the only way is not to buy it.
Only buy enough for your kids.

I'm 35 so hope I'm not in peri. I also have pcos so that doesn't help craving. It's almost physical ! I cannot believe I'm over 10 stone

Don’t keep them in the house. That worked for me when I was struggling with craving crisps.

ColonelHaiti · 04/02/2022 15:02

Its work thats the issue always having chocolates delivered and I know its weak but I actually can't help eating it.

It probably is a biological response

helloclue.com/articles/cycle-a-z/the-link-between-pcos-and-insulin-resistance

Craving sweet things is part of the cycle.

I found dried apricots were good at deterring me from chocolate eating. I got them in little snack size packs ( 40 calories a bag). I've no idea why .You know snacking is not good for you. You are acting like toddler ColonelHaiti. Get adult Colonel Haiti to act like someone who actually likes toddler and prevents them doing things that harm them.

It takes a few days of healthy eating before I generally start easing off cravings for rubbish. Weirdly the day I have a non Carey breakfast and start the day with a glass of water are the days I do best (could be all in my head!!!)

stayathomer · 04/02/2022 15:31

Non carby breakfast that was, so no cereal or toast!!

ColonelHaiti · 04/02/2022 15:49

I'm coming off antidepressants and I thought I may lose some! I may eat eggs for breakfast!

I am like this at the moment. Usually food doesn’t taste that good and chewing is boring so I am wuite slim but I’ve been on the chocolate too. There were actual rolls of fat today 😱. I am going to sprinkle little amounts of bicarb of soda on my chocolate to make it unpalatable and stop buying it. As well as work out at home more. Good luck OP Getting back down to 9St. Buy in fresh tasty veg and fruit you’ll lose the weight. Mangoes are good- really tasty and filling.

Thanks everyone. I seem to just have a huge appetite but it's just mindless eating

Forgot to say try to drink 1-1.5- 2l of water a day, honestly you're so full up, feel great and weirdly it sends you looking for an apple instead of rubbish!!!
