Tesco delivery

Does anyone know how to leave instructions for the delivery driver after placing an order? When I placed my order, I didn't have Covid, but now I do and am self isolating. I know a delivery notes box usually pops up when selecting the delivery date, but I've looked everywhere (well, possibly not ...!) and can't find anything. I might have to resort to making weird faces and gestures to the poor delivery person through the window. Maybe they're used to it!

Write a note in BIG letters saying WARNING COVID

YeOldePotato · 04/02/2022 12:54

For on the door

ShadowPuppets · 04/02/2022 12:55

Yeah, note on the door or the window, old school Grin

Scarlettpixie · 04/02/2022 12:57

I think if you go to amend the order that box will be there again at checkout.

Otherwise put a note on the door - presumably they will have bags..

@YeOldePotato and @ShadowPuppets It crossed my mind. Might be my only option! Maybe a skull and crossbones for added effectGrin

Haha or a big red x on the door

RedCandyApple · 04/02/2022 12:58

Either call them or when they knock explain the situation and ask them to leave it on the door step

SpongebobsPants · 04/02/2022 12:59

I tried going through checkout again @Scarlettpixie but no luck. Going to go with note on door!

All the DPD emails with a delivery time slot say to leave a note on the door for the driver if you are self-isolating - I would do the same for other deliveries, at least the driver is unlikely to miss that.

flipperdoda · 04/02/2022 13:09

On the app, you make changes to your order, go to basket, click the button to change the delivery address, click on the slot you've already got, and it takes you to the window with the notes box

flipperdoda · 04/02/2022 13:10

I had the exact same issue last week Grin hope you get off lightly with covid symptoms!

StrawberrySanta · 04/02/2022 13:12

If you go on the website not the app you can add a note there. I did that and they left the shopping all over the floor outside the door Hmm the week after I forgot to go onto the website and edit it, but they hadn't read it anyway as they didn't have a clue. so, I'd say try the website, or just tell them at the time

SpongebobsPants · 04/02/2022 13:14

Thank you @flipperdoda am already over the worst and wasn't too bad. Still getting positive tests though. I'll try the change delivery address thingummy.

Haha @YeOldePotato I went to type the exact same response before seeing yours! Great minds ❌ Grin

I was in this situation last week.
My husband had planned to work from home in order to take the delivery in when I’d tested positive the day before (he was going to wear a mask) and he then tested positive an hour before the delivery was due.

I put a note on the door explaining that we were isolating and the driver called me when he’d read it. I had to go to the window so that he could see I was over 25 for the beer that had been ordered and then he packed everything into carrier bags which he’d got on the van and left them outside the front door.

SpongebobsPants · 04/02/2022 13:26

Thanks all. Managed to leave instructions for driver via website instead of app (was on endless loop of death on there). Will also nail warning to door just to be on the safe sideGrin

I'm unsure about Tesco but some supermarkets no longer provide bags. I've started leaving my wheelie shopping trolley in the porch so when I open the outer door they just unload all the shopping into that. Otherwise if you have large durable bags just put them out for them to load your shopping into.

Hope you recover soon! 🌹

I'm surprised it hasn't made a come back
HelloKeith · 04/02/2022 16:37

I had this a couple of weeks ago - couldn't find it on the app but could on the website. Wrote in capitals that we were isolating and had Covid. Made bugger all difference to the maskless driver who slammed the crates down in the doorway and waited for me to unpack it. I felt lousy and would have appreciated him putting it all in bags but no such luck!

Paint a big red x on your front door.
