Slightly confusing behaviour

I went to a party with a male friend at the weekend. He's a nice man I've known a long time, but there's never been anything romantic between us.

I had a few drinks, nothing excessive but definitely reduced inhibitions tipsy. He was driving and drank nothing at all.

We were the stars of the dance floor Grin and all credit to him for that in his sober state.

As the evening went on our dancing got more "intimate" ending up very close, arms wrapped around each other, cheek to cheek, like a couple of teenagers! We are most definitely not teenagers. Nothing disrespectful, but not behaving like friends iyswim

If we'd both been drinking, I'd dismiss it as foolish drunkeness, but he hadn't and whilst I had no objections, he was definitely the lead in all this.

Then he drove me home, thanked me for a great evening, quick peck on the cheek like we normally do and that was that.

Prior to this night out, I'd never thought of him as a potential partner but it felt like something changed that night.

Since then though it seems to be business as usual, although he has made a point of thanking me again for a great night and also telling some mutual friends what a good evening we had.

Leave him be and see what happens, don't risk the friendship, or "do' something?

What do you want to happen? you say you haven't looked at him like that before?

I don't know. As I said, confusing.

He's "nice" and we have some fun, but he's not very bright and I can't see him as a life partner, but then I'm not looking for one.

I can absolutely imagine sleeping with him. OTOH it would be really weird having known him as friends for so long
