How to get this out of chair?

I’ve got covid right now (I don’t feel ill but the LFT still says I have it – Day 5). Unfortunately it’s messed up my cycle and I’ve just had a 5 day period which was really heavy and I’ve not fully stopped yet. I’ve unfortunately gone through a pad, through my clothes and onto the chair.

How can I get it out?

I’m the only one who sits at the chair as its my computer chair but it’s a dinning chair with a cushion type seat which is like fake velvet and foam together.

@CovidCycle I have Covid too! Grin

I can strongly recommend Dr Beckman carpet cleaner (the pet one!) for getting stains out on rugs etc but unsure about the fabric you describe. Could you try a small bit first, maybe?

I also managed to get spaghetti bolognaise on my light blue jeans which have stained them! They are currently soaking in white vinegar so I shall let you know if that works too :)

I've got covid as well Grin

Cold water is the best, I'd start with plain cold water and then either washing powder or washing up liquid.

I would start with cold water - maybe spray it a bit then blot it. Cold water will generally loosen blood from clothing. Thereafter I would move to washing up liquid in lukewarm water. If that still didn’t do it I would try the pet stain remover.

Sounds awful but depending how much there is spit on it if its quite small, then dab with tissue/cloth. Your saliva has enzymes which break down the blood

Cold salty water. Sponge.

Dc had a nose bleed all over my brand new cream carpet last week. I googled and it said cold water and if that doesn't work washing up liquid. It worked with the washing up liquid (only a small amount).

CovidCycle · 02/02/2022 13:25

Thank you will try water and washing up liquid.

Hope all of you with Covid aren't feeling too bad.

Salt and cold water. Get as much as you can with kitchen paper. Dampen with cold water, sprinkle on salt, brush off. Rinse and repeat.

Thanks everyone, a bit of washing powder mixed with warm water got it off, it even looks cleaner than before!

I read the title as 'how to get out of this chair' was expecting some sort of reclining chair luxury that was holding you fast. 😳 apologies op. As you were. (Glad you got the blood out).
