I’m 39+3 and I’m already tired of waiting for my first baby lol been off work shielding for 3 months and have bad SPD so can’t move! Fed up! so I was wondering if anyone would be interested in sharing their stories of those first few moments you realise you’re in labour - idk I think maybe reading some will help boost my excitement back up again ☺️🙃

I was 49 weeks exactly. Fast asleep in bed and I felt a "thwomp" feeling in my belly that woke me up. It was undoubtedly my first contraction. And it was painful right from the start! There was absolutely no question in my mind this was it. That was at 23:55 at night, and I had my baby 12.5 hours later!

Erm, 39 weeks! Blush

I’m finding myself just wishing every night that it’ll happen 😂 I think my son is quite settled where he is. Can only imagine the feeling ! Just constant braxton hicks for me at the moment though …

I had loads of Branxton hicks, and false starts. BUt when it did happen it went very quickly. (hypermobility makes it faster apparently)

I was 40+1 and I started getting what felt like period cramps. So I got moving and they got stronger within 3 hours and I had a bath and was contracting in the bath, that's when I knew it was real. 😍

Hope baby doesn't keep you much longer.

Op, I'm 40+5 today. I feel you. I only finished work week 38 and thought it I get two weeks to myself I'll be grateful... and I was. Was even cheery when my due date came and went but here I am. Have had lots of "signs" but here I am convinced I'll never go into labour.

Constant cramps for the last 2 days leading nowhere

I was 39+1 when I woke up at about 3am with a contraction, just a mild one but unmistakable and definitely not a Braxton Hicks. I managed to go back to sleep only to be woken again at 5.30 with another one. Nothing happened for a while after that, so I told DH to go to work, only for him to reappear an hour later as he couldn't concentrate. After lunch I rang my mum (bad move as she just fretted all day) and she thought I should go to hospital. So we did, but pretty much got sent home again immediately. Went back in the early evening when things were getting serious and begged for an epidural, such a relief. DS eventually arrived via forceps at 00:10, I was 39+2.
