What accents do you love/hate

I love Northern Ireland
Hate the Bristol accent

Would you judge someone on their accent?

I wouldn't judge anyone negatively on their accent, because I'm not a bigot.

I love the Geordie accent.

I notice accents and I like some more than others but I try not to judge somebody on their accent.

One accent that grates a bit is the Australian accent, no idea why. If I click on something on netflix and it's Australian I'll abandon that Idea.

Not at all, I like accents (including Bristol, look); the important thing is that people speak correctly, not fast and are understood.

What a goady thread. So people are going to list the accents they hate and some Mumsnetters are going to get upset about that. Also what do you mean by 'judge' someone by their accent? An accent is just that, I don't see how anyone can be judged for it?

I dislike the northern Irish accent because of the distortion of the vowel sounds. It's like nails on a blackboard to me.

When I hear an Africaans accent, I automatically think of apartheid. I do have close, Sth African friends though.

I find strong, regional accents hard to understand sometimes, especially when they add in local phrases/words only known to that area.

I don't like the Brummie accent, but wouldn't judge someone for having it

These threads never go well, so much potential for upset.

I will only say that I love a soft west of Ireland accent (my DH has one).

Love some Northern Irish accents, I dislike my own, I sound exactly like a female Peter Kay, and my voice is quite deep, Never liked it on myself.
