If any of you are old enough to remember this from the 1970s, you'll probably also remember the 'What's the recipe today Jim' thing afterwards. Anyway, who was it singing on the jingle itself ? Was it Jimmy Young, who had enjoyed an earlier career as a balladeer, or someone else entirely ? It certainly sounds like JY.

Neil Richardson or the Mike Sammes Singers might have been involved. They all worked with JY at various times.

Wasn't it called Raymondo IIRC?
Only ever heard it when we were off school.
After Terry, it was Pete Murray and then Jimmy Young.

Apparently Raymondo was the speeder up voice of his production assistant Ray Harvey.

Raymondo was the voice behind the 'What's the recipe...' bit. I'd wager Jimmy Young sang the actual jingle but I can't be sure.

This reminds me of helping my mum polish the seemingly endless display cabinets we had in our house (and which needed daily polishing!) I can smell the Mr. Sheen!
