Anyone used Microsoft Teams?

Please help! I've been invited to a job interview on Microsoft Teams later this week. I've never used it in my life!

The lady at HR said she would email me an invite to the interview and I just 'join'. Is that right?

Don't I have to download it and register first? I really don't want to mess this up. Shock

Make sure you practice first. Blur the background. Check the microphone and video is working well

Remember the camera is at the top of the screen. I always forget and adjust the screen so that it's pointed at my boobs :-(

I agree Team is really easy. Remember no giant sex toys in the background though 👀

@Charley50

Oh, I don't know. At least she won't have to ask me what I do in my spare time.....🤷🏻‍♀️

Really, really easy. You don't have to download it. Feel free to set up a burner email address and PM me it if you want a test run and don't know anyone irl who uses it.

One thing I sometimes do is restart my laptop shortly before a meeting as have found my mic sometimes doesn’t work but doing a restart sorts that

It's relatively easy and straight forward.

Ideally get a friend to send you a Teams invite ahead of time to practice. You can check how you look on screen, chair too high/low, too much light or looks like you are sitting in the dark etc.

On the morning, I would join about 5-10 minutes early just to make sure it's working. You won't interrupt anyone else's interview etc. as the host has to admit you first.

Make sure your sound and picture are on.

Best of luck with it.

Please don’t ask HR to send you a meeting link to test in advance. I would find that completely off putting after WFH. As others have said, it’s simple and if you’re worried get a friend to email you a meeting link to get you prepared for it. But honestly it is so so simple!

yes to headphones.
the telephone ones with microphone give clear sound. airpods can sometimes break up.

Thank you everyone for your sterling advice! You were all spot on it is a doddle, really set my mind at rest, and I clinched a second interview!
