Its absolutely impossible to guess, every house is different and there are so many factors that influence. You're best getting a few decorators to come to look and quote.

I think OP has been quite specific. Hope you get some useful replies, OP.

I was quoted £1500, we probably have more fiddly bits than you, as it's a terrace.

ThreeRingCircus · 31/01/2022 18:21

We paid £1200 but that was to strip wallpaper, make good the walls and paint. There are nine doors coming off our hall, stairs and landing so I thought that was fair enough for the amount of work.

CurlsLDN · 31/01/2022 18:24

Had mine done today - terraced house, downstairs hallway, stairs (walls only, not steps), upstairs landing and small staircase up to attic - £350 including the cost of the paint

Jota67 · 31/01/2022 18:26

I paid 780. Big area included papering, painting , all woodwork(we have a large landing with lots of railings).
4 day job for 1 guy

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 31/01/2022 18:28

At the end of last year, we were quoted £1600 for our hall stairs and landing. No doors, because they’re all wood.

We are going to do it ourselves.

MichaelGovesBeard · 31/01/2022 18:30

So somewhere in the region of £350-£1600Grin

Are the walls currently painted or papered? Are they going to be papered or painted? Will they need plastering or lining? Are there two floors or three or more? Is the ceiling being done at all? The bannister and rails? Are materials being supplied or paid for separately?

That's why the answers vary so much.

Wow that's good where are you?

No paper to strip and just to be repainted

Mine was £1500 15 years ago. But this is a large 3 bed terrace with lots of floors and very high ceilings and we had lining paper first plus all the upstairs doors (4) painted too.

PivotPivotPivottt · 31/01/2022 19:17

I paid £80 to have my hall, stairs and landing painted! Local guy takes £80 a day to do any decorating you ask for.

Hi,
This seems very low - what area are you talking about?
