Holiday insurance if govt suddenly cancel international travel?

Am looking at renting a Spanish villa. The company are saying we are not insured if govt suddenly restrict travel cos of covid.

Do you think normal travel insurance covers this? Is anyone else in same position?

Ours no longer covers this either

Check with Battleface, they were certainly covering this until very recently.

You need specific covid cover from your insurance, my police (staysure) covers this, £110 for the year for 2 adults including USA and cruise

My travel insurance would refund if restrictions meant we could no longer travel or travel to that location was advised against. That seems like a basic thing any insurance should cover at the moment.
