As some people on here can make a poussin last a family of six for a week, how long can you keep cooked meat to use ?
I always throw it away if not used next day.

3 days.

I normally only keep for 3 days (if stored correctly). If I'm not going to use it up in that time, I'll slice and freeze it.

Is that 3 days after the day you cooked it, so if you cooked a chicken on Sunday, the last day you would use it is Wednesday ?

When I worked in a kitchen it was three days from the day it was cooked so Tuesday for the chicken.

Cook a chicken on a Sunday, any leftovers are finished on a Monday if there are any.
We don’t tend to have a lot of leftovers though, as a family of 5 we would rarely have enough leftover to feed the whole lot of us again for a meal so tend to just cook roughly the amount we’ll eat in one sitting.
