Why do I do this ?

My dh is a ok man , not controlling , not abusive , no relationship problems etc. So why do I do this ?
If he has been out , even if it's time spent doing his hobby ( in shed/ man cave ) or garage , or gardening etc . When he comes in , and if I'm sat down , I feel compelled to jump up and look busy . It's almost like I've been judged at some point and trying not to be ' caught ' out.
Sometimes I almost leap up with my heart skipping a beat . I haven't a clue why I do it.

I'm like this too. I just don't want to appear lazy even though DH has never made me feel I am.

I do this! My dh has never said anything about me sitting down, in fact he actively encourages it so it's definitely me not him. No idea why but as pp says my dmum is busy busy so maybe that's it? I've managed to progress to laughing at myself at least - but still do it!

My DH does this - it used to annoy me and now it just makes me laugh! How he thinks I can't here the snap of his phone case closing and think that every time I come into a room it is normal for him just to be standing in the middle of it I'll never know!

We are all the product of the experiences we have had. At some point you've internalised that you should be busy.

Thanks for all your thoughts , it could be parental I guess , my father was quite strict so perhaps it made my mum do it , and has rubbed off to me .
