A new colleague is leaving after a few months. It's a shame as they were really nice. 2 colleagues from the subteam who are quite chavy, loud, lazy and abrupt like to gossip and are very friendly with the manager and have the manager's personal number to chat to after work. These chavs have been doing everything they can to get this colleague out.
The colleague asked the manager for help and training on the system as they have not used it before and was always told by the manager 'what do you think you need to learn?'. My colleague was told do not contact the person who did the role previously for help, the predecessor still works for the company so is accessible.
The manager refused to arrange training or advise where anything was on the system. The final straw for the colleague was a team Zoom meeting where the colleague asked a question and the manager looked disgusted and spoke to them like absolute dirt. My colleague then handed their notice in saying they do not need to put up with bullying from anyone and will excel elsewhere.
It is quite a common thing in this team. Lots of people left under this new manager. I avoid this manager as they tried to do this crap to me and it has stopped. Just feel for this colleague as they were nice and don't what benefit it is pushing someone out when you need to rehire and even then the next person won't be trained and thrown under the bus.
