Holiday in April. Crete? Cyprus? Somewhere else?

DH and I would like to go on holiday in April for a week. We have ruled out the Canaries and anywhere in Italy as I don't want to wear a mask outside. We don't want long haul. We do want fairly nice weather (just sitting out in shorts with a book weather is fine) and we would like quiet and beautiful accommodation (not self catering). We cannot work out where we could go apart from maybe Cyprus or Crete. Anyone got any suggestions of countries/resorts?

Am bumping in the hope that someone out there has some good suggestions??

I like Madeira. The flowers will be pretty.

Madeira? Or Cape Verde possibly too. The weather in the Med in April is very hit and miss.

Any of the southern Med countries/islands - Rhodes, Kos and Turkey will also have good weather in April.

North Africa - Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt - also good at that time of year.

Egypt would be my choice.

Crete is lovely. Beaches, mountains, history, walks. In April there will be wildflowers.

And lovely fresh food as most of it is grown locally not flown in like the smaller islands

Specifically Olu Deniz, Hisaronu, Fethye area

Anywhere other than Bodrum or Marmaris

Cyprus will be warm in April we are going to Protarus beginning of May

Croatia. We've been to Porec 3 times, it's so pretty and clean. Not Dubrovnic, too commercial and busy. Split, Zagreb, Hvar and Cavtat are all favourites of mine too.

@StickMum we went to Crete. It was glorious. We are going to Corfu this year but a bit later.

@ApolloandDaphne were cafes and restaurants open? Did d you swim in the sea? Where would you recommend going?
