Just watching the BBC news and Andrew Castle used the phrase 'Porky pies'. I was just wondering if people who speak English as a second language find these sorts of phrases confusing (in this case, cockney rhyming slang).
Are other languages this varied? Does anyone have any good phrases? For example, I like that the French for window shopping actually translates and window licking.
