Reading another thread on here about curtains I’ve been reminded of something that (I think) used to happen when I was a child (I’m now mid 40s). Some people used to hang their curtains with the good/nice/patterned side facing the windows so they could be seen from outside the house. Have I completely made this up in my head or does anyone else remember this?
If it makes a difference I grew up on a street of terraced houses where the living room windows faced directly onto the pavements.
