Hi can anyone tells me what happens at a sleep clinic please as the GP has referred me to one at the hospital as he thinks I have sleep apnea. What actually happens there as I'm a.bit nervous

Yes. Have done this.

It's nothing to worry about, you will be given a private room to sleep in and if they're doing the full study, you will sleep "normally" overnight and then do naps the following day.

The only odd thing is the monitoring cables that they attach to you with a battery pack. These stay attached for the duration and you'll hardly notice them after a while. Actually really nice to get a night of undisturbed sleep!

C Pap user here with a few overnighters. Important to have jim jams so your nightie isn't hoiked up by the cables. I'd also take some snacks/drinks as refreshments are usually lacking in sleep study centres. You are filmed as you sleep and they also look for Restless Legs.l I'm under the care of Queen Victoria Hospital at East Grinstead where the staff and my Consultant are first rate and everything is explained clearly. Happy to answer questions if C Pap prescribed.
