Vinted problem

Hoping you can help me. I've sold a few things on Vinted with no problem before.

I sold a size 10 jumper - wool and cashmere - and listed that I think it's a size 8 fit. It fits me tightly and I am more a 10. I have 30G boobs too and it fits.

This woman bought the jumper for £4 (RRP was £80ish years ago when I bought it, it's a well known higher end brand, and states it's a size 10 on the labels). Anyone who uses vinted knows the seller buys posted (Hermes) and it updates automatically. Yet she messaged me a few days after purchasing asking (rudely) where it was. I explained the tracking is in the chat and shows, Hermes had put 'sorry it's delayed' which is obviously not my fault.

Then she has now messaged to say it's not a size 10. I explained it fits more an 8 as in the listing. She is arguing that no it's smaller.

I think sizing between brands varies too much so this isn't my problem. But what do I do now?

have you looked at the terms and conditions on vinted?

Whattothink65 · 26/01/2022 10:57

From reading, it says she must send me back the jumper at her cost and then I refund her. That's not an issue, but she needs to purchase a label and I am not sure how to do that and I don;t think wants to pay

As long as you explain in your item description "labelled size 10 but feels more like 8" etc she can't really complain. If she wishes to return it she should purchase a label. TBH for 4 quid I wouldn't even bother. I would probably just relist it myself and try to get a bit back for it!!

I have never sold or bought on vented but when I sell on ebay I always add measurements of clothing so this does not happen. Worth remembering if you sell anything else. Sorry can't help with this problem

Vinted makes the seller pay to return even if the item is faulty. And no refund of return postage costs. So I expect she will realize she may as well keep the jumper than lose money twice.

They won't make you do anything

I bought a dress recently for £5 it didn’t fit and was a bit tight in places, but I didn’t complain I just relisted it! Clothes sizes are so hard to judge I see it as a risk as the buyer when you buy online. I do ask questions and usually sellers on Vinted are happy to answer and honest in my experience.

If you listed it as a suggested smaller fit than its size I’d say she has no argument.

This is why I always give exact measurements when selling clothes, as well as saying if the fabric is stretchy or not.

I've had this on Vinted before, Vinted won't do anything because you stated on your listing that it was labeled 10 but more of an 8 so she's not got a leg to stand on, she should have read it properly so it's her fault.
I've discovered there are some lovely buyers on Vinted but equally as many rude chancers.
