Splitting my time with 3 DCs

Name change as haven’t told family I’m expecting DC3.

DC1 is 5 and DC2 is 3. DH is a hands on dad and we both take care of the children equally mostly. The only exception is that DH is in traditional employment and I’m self employed so I often go on holiday abroad Covid-permitting with the DCs. DC1 and DC2 also have independent activities where DH or I will accompany them. So they both get 1:1 with each of us.

I’m now pregnant with DC3. I’m expecting to BF exclusively for 6 months so DC3 will be with me permanently during that time.

  1. How do I give DC1 & DC2 the 1:1 with me that they are used to? Do I just expect them to understand that DC3 needs me?
  1. Has anyone travelled abroad on their own (without another adult) with 3 DCs?

I would be grateful for any tips! Thank you.

I wouldn't be keen on taking 3 abroad on my own, but then I wouldn't have with a 5 and 3 yr old, or a 4 and 2 yr old or a 3 and 1 yr old, so you are clearly already a lot braver than me.

If you are a confident breast feeder, then, surely you just latch the baby on, and carry on what you have been doing ? You can still snuggle up and read together or take them to swimming lessons or baby ballet or little kickers or whatever. 3rd children do have to slot in a bit and older ones soon get used to slight adjustments.
