How can I send a gift in Australia?

So I'm in the UK and I want to send my friend something as she's been so helpful to me lately

I'd rather not send UK -AUS as it'll just take forever and cost a bomb so can anyone advise if I can actually order from an Australian website and send to her like that?

Thanks!

I have a sister in Australia and frequently use this website for gifts for her www.alittleluxury.com.au/

Ivyonafence · 22/01/2022 12:59

What kind of gift do you want to send?

Jacaranda75 · 22/01/2022 13:02

OP, whereabouts in the UK are you?

givememykeys · 22/01/2022 13:03

Does Australia have the same online ordering culture that we have in England, I beleive Amazon is not such a big thing, but it must be posible to do that even if it's old school Interflora

I also use www.alittleluxury.com.au to send gifts to family in Australia. I’ve used them for years and find them excellent, the gifts have always been really well presented.
They have a big selection of things and you can customise a lot of the hampers too which is great.

I usually order from one of the major dept stores - davidjones.com/
Or
www.myer.com.au/

Peter’s of Kensington is good too.

All of them have easy checkout process, accept UK payment and delivery relatively quickly. Australian post is sloooooow.

I have family in Australia and find sending gifts really tricky but I like www.hardtofind.com.au/ it is similar to notonthehighstreet.com and often there is free delivery. Some items I think are made in the UK and sent over.

Yes, I've ordered direct from Aus sites for friends and family over there.

Gawd, I hope it’s not secondary school books for this year. I don’t know how Australia post can’t deliver 10 km down the road.

I use Etsy, set the location of the shop & the delivery location to Australia, very easy & means you're supporting a small business.

I want to send something like pamper items/ flowers/ chocs/ treat bits . Anything along those lines!

Thanks so much for the links. I'll take a look now

I also often Google for local cake shops/florists/delis that deliver - so many do and Australian food culture/deli culture is overall better than the UK, especially outside big cities. The service will be really fast and personal and you’re helping out a local small business.
