DH and I are going to Manchester for a Friday and Saturday night. We’re staying very centrally: where would be a great place to eat. We like all sorts of cuisines: Friday night we have more time, Saturday we need to eat early- out by 7.30 as going to a gig

Oh I really like Cottonopollis

It’s not too fancy and the food is nice and it has a nice vibe

Mana is amazing if you like a tasting menu

TigerDroveAgain · 21/01/2022 21:35

Thank you: great ideas! I don’t trust Tripadvisor and all that stuff as so biased, so lovely ideas!

A bit boring but disjoin is good. We also really liked San Carlo for Italian and canto for tapas. Not high but not quite pizza express.

There's a lot of unique places in the Northern Quarter worth trying.

mnahmnah · 21/01/2022 22:20

Oh and The Ivy garden terrace is bloody gorgeous, lovely food

TheLeadbetterLife · 21/01/2022 22:23

Happy Seasons in Chinatown - looks like a dive, food is fantastic.

fivepies · 21/01/2022 22:24

Erst - small so need to get booked in, excellent food (flatbreads to die for), good value, organic wines

SJFarter · 21/01/2022 22:26

Stay away from Dirty Martini on Deansgate. The food was frozen in the middle. It's more of a bar that serves food, so may not be suitable anyway.

ElenaAvalor · 21/01/2022 22:29

Second for Rosso.

JustJam4Tea · 21/01/2022 22:30

TNQ for me too. Lovely lunch. Really gorgeous well cooked food
I had lancashire cheese soup with Parmesan crisps, a mushroom and chestnut wellington and a pumpkin panna cotta. Bloody lovely

whoopstheregoesmyshouldet · 21/01/2022 22:49

Launderette, Chorlton. Great cocktails and comfort style food. The truffled macaroni cheese is amazing.

20viona · 22/01/2022 08:06

Sapporo is a teppanyaki restaurant with show cooking so that's a cool experience. Also the ivy is nice for breakfast.

TokyoSushi · 22/01/2022 08:09

Ivy Asia is my absolute favourite
Australasia
20 Stories
El Gato Negro

All fab, have a lovely time!
