What’s Happening In Your House?

Chips have just gone in & eggs out of the fridge ready to fry in a bit. Ham on the plates. DH eating slices of bread to keep him going & now cutting a substantial chunk of cheese. I cannot keep up with the cheese consumption in this house! We were having slow cooker beef stew but the shin of beef had gone off 😢 Had a brief row with DH earlier about how much food is wasted & he does have a point. DD13 in her room. She is school refusing ( very long & incredibly stressful story) but has said she will go in on Monday. I have drunk a little too much wine, got emotional & sobbed over Supernanny videos. Looking forward to Corrie & Gogglebox if it’s still on.

DD is hopefully down for the night. DH and I started watching the football but it was crap so now on 8 Out of 10 Cats does Countdown. Cat asleep on DH and I am balancing an Appletizer on my pregnant bump and really missing Friday night wine… 16 weeks to go (although 16 more Friday nights until chaos of a newborn so maybe I should be careful what I wish for!)

Cocktails... to be exact a Cosmopolitan and a White Lady

DS should be asleep but I can hear him chatting to his soft toys. DH and I have cider, pringles and Depeche Mode on Sky Arts. I LOVE Friday evenings.

Should be doing my yoga but can't be bothered for once. Ate a little supper earlier and have a beer in the fridge.

Dcsx 3 asleep upstairs I pray and hope

I’m in bed on my phone after dinner ( sausage, mash and gravy) and half a bottle of red wine. We ( me, ds1 and ds2) played cards and dominoes after dinner. DH and one ds walked the dog while the other ds and I watched the news and ate snacks. Started watching would i lie to you but thought it was a poor episode so we’ve all sloped off to read in bed. Apart from DH who is hanging out with the dog downstairs

DD and I have Covid. She should be in bed but I can hear her downstairs. I've just got out the bath which I had to warm me up and soothe my stomach. DH on the pc. Contemplating watching Ozark with DH and some AF beer (me not him- he's drinking the normal stuff ) but will probably just go to bed. Dcat probably asleep somewhere.

Close relative announced engagement this week so I’m having a bit of a cry as I’m nearly 50 and it probably won’t happen for me. I’ve never been married (never even been asked!). New boyfriend is lovely, but it’s never been discussed, he’s got two kids and been married before, my parents died when I was a young adult so didn’t get to see either me or my brother married. And I know a marriage is more than just a wedding anyway, and financially it makes more sense for us not to get married in our case, but it makes me sad that the quiet church wedding I thought about when I was younger won’t happen. I’m really pleased for them but it’s made me a bit sad. Plus it’s all my family will talk about for the next couple of years.
So I’m having a one-woman pity party with a bag of mini eggs.

@WhatDidISayAlan I understand your feelings. I feel similar, my DP is lovely and I’m really happy with him but he does not want to marry again and that means I will never get married.

It’s really nice reading everyone’s domestic goings on. Hugs to those that need them.

I’m lounging on the bed in a towel. Almost too tired to move. I’ve been WFH all day. DP out looking after his DGS all day. Had dinner when he returned (cannelloni), watched the last Vienna Blood and I came up here to put the washing on the clothes horse and have a shower.

Snuggled under a blanket, duvet, a jumper, cardigan, two tshirts, a vest, tights, leggings, jeans and three pairs of socks on the settee. Desperately want to go to bed but the house is too cold to brave the icy bathroom then bedroom. At least I've pre warmed the duvet!!

Watching architectural / interior design shows and eating boring mixed nuts that I made into tandoori mixed nuts! Yum!

We've just finished after life. Loved it, ep 6 was by far the best.
Dh is on the phone to an old friend, dd is going to bed and I'm trying to get the energy to finish some work

Mid afternoon here. Glorious sunshine. I just bathed the dog and gave him a quick blow dry. He is on my lap looking wounded, but clean.

He did have his usual case of the zoomies and raced around the apartment.

I feel really teary tonight , middle son left home few hours ago . He's not a huggy lad at all but he gave me such a big hug and told me he loved me . He cuddled his little brother who then burst into tears . Going to feel really weird without him here ☹️

Sat in bed with baby propped up on knees as he's very refluxy and just had a feed.
Dh at football and other dc are asleep, can hear the cats chasing each other downstairs as i forgot to let one of them out

Sat in bed feeding DS. DH downstairs making us homemade pizza. We're going to eat it in bed, drink some wine, and watch a film. Torn between Harry Potter and a more serious watch - folky horror called Antlers. Spent the evening out fixing our crops, that's why dinner is late!

Now I really want bangers & mash! Haven’t had it for ages yet it’s one of my absolute favourites.

I feel for you, it's 2 years today since my only DS moved out. I threw him a little leaving party and I've just been looking at the photos. He looks way too young to be moving out, sat playing FIFA with his mates in our living room. Mind you he was only 19 then so to me he really was too young to be moving out but there you go! An hour after the pic was taken he'd taken off with his girlfriend to their new place and my DDs were really upset. Youngest went and laid on DSs bed and cried. It's still weird without him living here 2 years on! I love it when he randomly drops in and takes over the living room again for a couple of hours

Hope you’re feeling a bit better today @pumpkinpie01 It takes a while to adjust. When my dd moved out I burst into tears on my first trip to Sainsburys.
