Anyone been here in December for a holiday
What's it like weather wise and has it got a nice buzzy holiday feeling in the evenings?

I have, it's similar to Lanzarote in December, windy and about 18 degrees.

I've found Tenerife much warmer/less windy in winter.

We've also been to Playa Blanca Lanzarote in December, which is just across the water from Corralejo so you can see it and the weather is quite nice but variable.

It might be hot but not reliably so. Also cooler in the evening and the sea is quite cold.

It varies, I went in December twice and it was mid to high 20's.

Go further south if you can. Jandia is lovely at Christmas, we found Lanzarote chilly (although Playa Blanca is warmer than the north).
Tenerife is great, especially Playa del Arena/ Los Gigantes. Or look at Marrakesh?

PeacheyPeach · 21/01/2022 19:03

@QueenofLouisiana would you say that Tenerife is warmer?? And nicer!?

Found corralejo lovely and warm, and also playa Blanca across the water

@PeacheyPeach that part of Tenerife is in a microclimate so has been warm and sunny on the 3 occasions I’ve been in December. The sea has been warm enough to swim and I’ve spent Christmas Day lazing in the beach every time.

I've been to sharks bay and sharm in Egypt in December and it was perfect. I've also been to southern Spain for Xmas and it was lovely. Dc spent Xmas day at the beach (22 degrees) but I think it's hit and miss there.

Been in Corralejo loads of times off season and definitely look further south if you want sun, then you'll be grand.

Canarian resorts are south of the island centres for a good reason: the weather comes in from the top and then hangs over the mountains. The south of all islands tends to be sunnier.

I like the local vibes of the northern sections and practising my Spanish so I always stay in the north of the islands. Plus being Irish and blue skinned I'm not looking for the rays so much 🌤

I really prefer Tenerife overall, especially the north. It's green and tropical, warmer and less windy than Lanzarote.
