What to do? (Career)

Been a nurse almost 30 years. I still have 17 years working life but I'm almost done. Worked throughout pandemic. I've never known current state of my job being so bad. I don't enjoy work anymore, and I'd always loved it previously, despite the challenges of staffing etc. I'm done tbh. Problem is I'm a LP and have 2 kids relying on me.....

Get an occupational health qualification and you can then work reasonable hours, sometimes from home. You assess if people are fit to work or need any adjustments, often just with phone calls.

I feel very similar, although I've only a third of your time served! Hats off.

I've been teaching myself to code & thinking of moving into tech/software development. Worried about my age plus the fact I've already had one career change (into nursing). I just can see myself doing this til I retire, in any capacity (am early 40s so 20+ working years left).

Have you thought about doing agency/bank for a bit? See if a change of scene any better?
