Which would you recommend for veggie or pescatarian recipes please?

Gousto. They tend to have more tofu recipes and a good introductory offer

TickleMyPickle · 18/01/2022 14:25

I’ve done them all and Gousto is by far the best. I get 4 meals for 4 every week and always do 2 meat,1 fish, 1 veg. Loads of options.
If you don’t have a mate to get a code off, here’s mine

What’s the minimum number of weekly meals with Gousto?

www.gousto.co.uk/cookbook/recipes/tofu-fingers-minty-peas-tartare-sauce

They seem to have a plant bistro section at the moment

LavenderRosemary · 18/01/2022 14:30

I would recommend Gousto too.

I think the minimum number of meals you can order a week is 2. We usually have 4 meals a week which is the maximum.

Sanch1 · 18/01/2022 14:34

Definitely Gousto. 60 meals a week to choose from and a high proportion of them are veggie/vegan/fish. Minimum is 2 meals. Here's a code for 65% off https://cook.gousto.co.uk/raf?promocode=CHERI42316722&utmm_source=iosapp

bendmeoverbackwards · 18/01/2022 14:35

Brilliant thank you. I’m not a huge tofu fan but there seems to be a lot of other options.

Mindful Chef are good if you use an offer code - I cancel and they usually send another one after a while - I basically do this with all of the meal services to get them on offer

We weren't so keen on Hello Fresh but Gousto was great. We ordered 4 vegetarian dishes a week from them for a few months and it was much better value then HF, I felt there was a good range to choose from, perhaps 12 or so vegetarian options each time.

Had a good deal going through Quidco, 1st box was about £10 and then the next 4 were heavily discounted.

bendmeoverbackwards · 18/01/2022 14:50

Is the fish always good and fresh with Gousto? I always worry about fish.

I'm another Gousto fan, esp the 10/15 minute meals (which become 15/20 in this house, but still) and the East Asian and Indian recipes. I've been with them for years now and think they're great.

If anyone still wants a discount code to try here's mine.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 18/01/2022 15:13

Fish has been fine with both gousto and hellofresh. We would tend to plan to eat it that day, and not order eg 4 fish dishes.
What I usually did was get half fish/meat and half tofu so I could substitute the tofu for fish and vice versa as some of us eat meat but 2 don't.

nomoneytree · 18/01/2022 15:14

Hello fresh is vile. The chicken is always off (always boned skinned thigh) and if the dish is beef or pork it is always mince (I.e cheap). One time they refunded me £4 because the chicken was bad (much less than the cost of the meal and I was left with a load of mini sized ingredients). Bad for the environment too. They also billed me for an order I had cancelled.

nomoneytree · 18/01/2022 15:15

Sorry you don't want meat. Think the fish options are v expensive with hello fresh.

barberousbarbara · 18/01/2022 16:18

We use Simply Cook. You have to buy your own ingredient but they recommend alternatives in the recipe cards (e.g. Dan Dan Noodles had diced mushrooms suggested instead of Quorn). The kits also have a reasonable shelf life.
