Just seen someone selling this in a Facebook group I'm part of. Saying they paid nearly £700 for it and want £200 for it. I just can't get my head around how expensive it is?!

People spend as much on a designer pushchair, if you think about it in comparative terms. I’ve never spent that much on either, personally!

thebigpurpleone · 16/01/2022 23:11

Surely a lot more manufacturing goes into a pushchair though...

Is it any different to people spending thousands on a designer handbag?

You pay for the looks and style of a designer handbag. A baby is not an accessory.

Artipoppe is all about freedom: freedom in the way we get to move through this world, freedom to listen to that inner voice and reconnect to the wild within, the natural instincts that we are all born with.

Exclusively if you can afford it. Utter guff.

You could argue you'd get a lot more wear out of a handbag

Just had a look at the website and I notice there’s a ring sling available for pre-order for >£6.5k!

ShirleyPhallus · 17/01/2022 06:35

“A lifestyle, not just a baby carrier”

It definitely is just a baby carrier

@thebigpurpleone we used the ergo baby 360 and it was brilliant

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 17/01/2022 07:36

It’s nonsense in the same way any high fashion is nonsense. A baby is equally as likely to puke on your 6.5k ring sling as your £30 one, and the £30 one is going to be a lot easier to clean than the one made with silk and cashmere.

thebigpurpleone · 18/01/2022 21:40

I could kind of imagine people paying a couple of hundred for a nicer design but it just seemed mental.

This is a sling, right???
people are mad.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 07/06/2023 18:44

Omg, I guess if people have money to burn. There are vicuña ones on their website for nearly £3.5k. The embroidered ones are nice (£600 odd). Crikey

AngeloMysterioso · 07/06/2023 19:59

And yet they happily give them away for free to rich celeb mummies.

This is why I don’t buy stuff from companies who use influencer freebie marketing. If they’re happy to give their stuff to millionaires for free then why should I give them my minimum wage money??

Kitcaterpillar · 07/06/2023 20:23

I saw one in the wild at an airport and it did look lovely and very comfy. And the standard ones are 'only' £340 which if you're not buying a pram and you use it every day... That's how baby buying maths works, right?!

(I didn't ever justify the cost to myself and was perfectly happy with a selection of Marketplace carriers!)

Kitcaterpillar · 07/06/2023 20:23

Oh, what a Zombie thread too!!!
