Went out tonight to pick up Tesco delivery and realised had bad heartburn. Came in and went from bad to worse over about 20 mins; ie from sore to I couldn’t catch my breath and wheezing and couldn’t stop coughing . Very lightheaded .
Phoned NHS24 and now waiting on a GP call back … genuinely felt I couldn’t breathe and chest pain, ended up throwing up whilst waiting on a nurse (poor call handler) and apart from feeling very panicked (sense of impending doom) and knackered and a pounding headache my chest feels much clearer, pain gone and stopped wheezing and coughing .
Can acid reflux cause all those symptoms? I remember having similar after an op with a spinal anaesthetic once and they said it was a laryngeal spasm or something. It’s panicked the hell out of me, I’m anxious already and alone in my flat which isn’t helping !
