Has anyone had their nose pierced with a ring (rather than stud)?

I'm too old for a nose piercing... I know this.
But I also WANT one. I had my nose pierced a few years ago (proper piercer) but managed to knock the stud out in my sleep and couldn't get it back in.
I've reached the nice meopausal 'couldn't give a damn what people think' stage and want to do it for me... but would really like a small nose ring rather than a stud. Is this possible?

Absolutely do it but I think you might have to start with a stud and then get it changed to a ring. I was desperate for a ring and piercers made me wait.

I was told to get it with a ring, but a proper BCR which was slightly bigger than needed to account for swelling and then got it changed a couple fo months later. Go for it!

Same as @astridforty said, you have to start with a stud then can change to a ring when it’s healed.

Go for it! I had mine done as a teenager then took it out years later, got it re-pierced so I could wear a small ring. Way better than a stud as it never falls out in my sleep!

Of course you can get it with a ring but it's like a real body piercing with a proper ring and not a dainty thing. It's more brutal with a ring than a stud. It's more easily knocked than a stud but of course stays in. Can be tricky to change.

Agree with above. Need to have a stud initially and then change to a ring . I know a few who have gone on to change to a dainty hoop straight away then whinge about healing. I ended up keeping my stud in because it suited me better than a ring .

I had mine done with a ring and it was fine, and I generally don't get on well with piercings!

Same as pp, I can’t manage to change the jewellery myself - sausage fingers, so end up nipping back into the piercers to get them to swap between stud and ring. Always makes me think carefully about what I want in, especially as work aren’t super happy about a ring.

If you go to a piercing studio rather than Claire’s accessories it b where ever, they will do it with an ring.
I got mine done with a ring in India years ago, but that might be a less practical choice.

I was offered the choice and had mine done with a ring. I prefer it to a stud and I wouldn’t say it’s particularly “in your face”, it’s just a quite small titanium one.

What i do with my nose ring is i get like earring tape off amazon and just stick it over the outside of the stud overnight it should stay on
