Help me pick a hoover!!

Spent ages researching and deciding on a hoover (needs to be from currys as I have vouchers), and decided on a henry.

Went to the shop yestersay and they advised against cylinder hoovers as one of the things I need from it is to pull my long hair that sheds, from the carpet. So said i would need an upright with ant-hair wrap bar.

But we also have stairs so dont want anything too bulky. Had another look and liked the ball dyson. Which apparently is out of stock, theres a nationwide shortage amd they have no idea when they'll have it back in stock...! 🙃

Had a look at the sharks, but didnt really like the aesthetics of the uprights, they looked a bit clunky. They have a cylinder hair wrap hoover but reviews say its quite heavy so not sure if it would still be cumbersome on the stairs...

Please I need some help, I either have to wait indefinitely for my first choice of dyson to come into stock, go with the original choice of a henry that might not pick the hair up properly, or go for a shark, but im so scared that im going to regret my choice!

This is the first time ive spent this sort of money on a hoover, its replacing a rubbish £30 one from tesco so want it to be a worthwhile spend!

Any recommendations or ones to avoid?

We have a Dyson cordless which is good for a quick once over, but there does often seem to be something wrong with it that needs help from you tube to rectify (battery reset, cleaning the metal connectors with a cotton bud etc).

We also have a Henry which is a pain in the neck to move around as it just tips over whenever you pull it, but it’s actually good really good suck and it’s 13 now.

I’d like a new corded Dyson but there’s nothing really wrong with the Henry so I’ll stick with that I think.

I agree the Henry has a good suck but falls over all the time. Use it would be so much handier if the on/off button was on the top not the side.

Just been to buy a shark liftaway anti hair wrap upright, hoovered the whole house and so, far, I love it! Light enough for the stairs, but strong enough to pull the hair out of the carpet!

Ended up with a nearly full dust compartment despite hoovering with my old hoover the on Friday... Blush

Very easy to change between different modes, not too heavy or cumbersome at all!

Sebo.
Had ours nearly 17 years. Survived huge house extension/renovation with builders using it to clean up rubble (poor love).

Or Miele. They are good too.
Henry have good suction but I struggle moving it around.

I've got a cordless Dyson V10, Shark lift away and a Henry.

The shark is my favourite, V10 used for the kitchen and hallway (hard floor) but the filter light is forever coming on and I find it a pita, I bought a knock off filter from Amazon so I don't have to wait for it to dry all the time.

Henry is ok - but harder work than the shark to use so the shark wins.

Also have a Dyson ball upright in the garage that I found too hard to push on my new carpets, just waiting for a friend or colleague to need a new vacuum and it is theirs.

Oops just saw your update. The only thing I will say about the shark is that you have to actually lift the thing away to use the wand otherwise it falls over but very good suction and easy to use as an upright on carpets.

Another vote for shark lift away.
We had a dyson ball that I hated and when the dog passed on and we got new carpets we wanted a dog free hoover so got the shark. It does look a bit bulky but the lift away is great for the stairs, so much easier than trying to balance the dyson.
I have long hair that sheds and it seems to be coping fine with it!

Miele C3 cat & dog. Great vacuum cleaner!
Seconded

I should add that when i finally decided on the shark, i dragged dp back out to currys after our visit yesterday, to find that they didnt have the shark in stock... But they did in a store an hours drive away... So we drove a 2 hour round trip to get the damn hoover because I was so fed up with the whole saga about it 😂

THIS. I made the horrible mistake of buying a Shark cordless. Useless thing that requires constant maintenance, and for the ultimate insult struggles to pick anything up above pea sized.

I read a lot of reviews on here and the Miele C3 cat and dog is the best vacuum I've ever owned.

Sebo upright
I worship it.I have a Dyson V11 or quick clean ups and to do upstairs as the Sebo is heavy to lift.
