Im doing OK with menopause I think. Got some issues but am coping (got a miserable coil).
But am so sick of aching, feel ancient and fed up.
Anyone tried anything that has made a difference? Not HRT.

I take collagen powder, no real help to my hips but my knees feel better. I also find if I do daily yoga it helps.

What are your Vitamin D levels, as achy joints is a symptom of low Vitamin D.
You need to ask GP to check your blood levels and then take the right amount to correct any deficiencies

I take high dose Solgar vitamin D. I've tried other makes, but they don't take the pain away. I'm now 90% improved with just the odd ache here and there.

I also feel better when I'm low carbing. Carbs make me feel older than I am. I have a lot more energy when I'm off them.

I am full of aches and pains, tries nearly every brand of turmeric and curcumin over the years; nothing seems to help.
I’m now going to try hrt, as I think it’s the lack of oestrogen that is causing it. Maybe try oestrogel alongside the coil for hrt, see if it makes a difference?

Glucosamine and Chondroitin tablets. They work wonders and you'll feel a difference within days. A friend of mine testified to it after I told her about them.

They were suggested by another (doctor) friend when I was having some issues. You can get them from any shop, Boots, etc.

NannyGythaOgg · 14/01/2022 13:58

High dose vitamin D3 with K2

NotSoNewAndShiny · 14/01/2022 14:11

Boots and Holland & Barrett seem to have started selling them in bulk so they're much more expensive now. You can get 30 tablets, 90 tablets far cheaper from any shop and they work the same. I haven't bought them from those two in a while.

happytoseeyou · 14/01/2022 14:14

I was recommended Magnesium tablets and that seems to have helped.

I actually stopped taking them for a few weeks (I had run out and thought they weren't any use anyway) but noticed a difference so have started taking them again.

I am not saying they are a magic cure, I still do get aches and pains but just not as severe.

Bonbon21 · 14/01/2022 14:15

Turmeric with black pepper.. holland and barratt... 2 weeks in and all my aches and pains have vanished....some I know are the start of arthritis, but I do feel so much better getting up in the morning.

HemanOrSheRa · 14/01/2022 14:18

Vit D with Vit K and Magnesium supplements helped ease bone and joint pain and aches.

Dragongirl10 · 14/01/2022 14:21

Turmeric reduced my painful joints by about 50-60%
Now trying collagen too....but as yet undecided.

Vit D levels need to be kept up

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 14/01/2022 14:21

Loads of epsom salts in the bath. They're cheaper in home bargains

Subbaxeo · 14/01/2022 14:29

Really sorry but my aching ankles when I got out of bed in the morning disappeared within weeks of starting HRT😊. I honestly thought I was arthritic.
However, if I do have niggling joint aches, a week or 2 of yoga makes the pain disappear. And lunges/squats made my severe knee pain on walking downhill disappear within weeks. Olive oil each day is purported to be anti inflammatory which may help.

Qthemusic · 14/01/2022 14:47

Turmeric and weight bearing exercises done daily worked for me.

GoodnightGrandma · 14/01/2022 14:49

Cod liver oil and it has helped my creaky knees.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 14/01/2022 14:54

Tried everything, collagen, yams, turmeric etc. I honestly thought I needed both hips replacing as if assumed I'd worn them out with decades of hockey, horse riding & skiing. Turns out I was peri, 2 weeks of HRT and I was like a new woman.

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 14/01/2022 15:01

Pilates worked miracles for me.

Angrymum22 · 14/01/2022 15:04

I was on HRT which helped but had to come off it when diagnosed with breast cancer. I now take anastrozole so aches are back. I did a bit of research and I’m trying loratidine, an anti histamine (clarytin or Tescos own for £2.75 a month)
After a month it is definitely helping.
