Food Heaven and Food Hell

Inspired by a Saturday morning cooking programme earlier, what is your food heaven and hells? Mine -

Heaven: Mackerel or other oily fish

Hell: Pesto

Heaven - seafood, pistachio ice cream
Hell - Weetabix, rocket ( don’t like the texture of either).

Heaven - chip butty (white bread)
Hell - cucumber

Heaven: most food!

Hell: fruit that looks good but isn’t - fuzzy apples, sour oranges or pomegranates, sandwiches where the bread has gone damp, preparing fish (eating it is good!).

Heaven - stodgy carbs with a hangover

Hell - onion, onion powder and anything from the allium family. This is only since covid

I’ve gone from the person who will eat anything to the fussiest person in the world as anything with onion (even the smell) makes me vomit. Oh - and onion powder is in a lot more things than you think!

Heaven : Eton mess
Hell : egg mayonnaise

Heaven: any seafood
Hell: olives

Heaven: Mussels in white wine, garlic, lemon and parsley sauce with lovely bread and a glass of wine
Hell: Mushroom soup, evil! And anything with fennel.

I'm really really not fussy so heaven could be anything!!

Hell - pistachios, offal, celery, coriander. I eat everything else

One more heaven: dulce de leche, anything with it in any shape or form!

Heaven- a real good donner kebab with salad and mayo. Not greasy or burnt, just perfectly cooked.
Hell- anything too spicy.

Heaven: curry (specifically the goan fish curry from my favourite restaurant although I’d need a veggie version now)
Hell: celeriac, water chestnuts

Heaven- seafood
Hell- tuna in any form

Heaven - seafood, hummus, lemon
Hell - honey roasted nuts, or any cruciferous vegetable 🤮

Heaven : steak
Beef Wellington
Sushi
Pistachio ice cream
Thick chunky chips, with light

and crispy battered fish

Hell: kidney
Liver
Custard
Runny cream
Rice pudding

Heaven would be a seafood paella with chicken and chorizo, massive prawns, muscles, clams with a side of garlic bread

Hell is coleslaw, can't stand the stuff.

Mussels. I really wish Mumsnet had an edit option.

Heaven - shellfish.

Hell - peas.

Heaven - fillet steak, beef wellington, roast goose, lamb shank

Hell - seafood, olives

Heaven - mushroom Wellington
Hell - bacon

Heaven - kephalonian meat pie
He'll- crabsticks

Heaven - Vietnamese food ( can’t get it locally)
Hell - cheap processed meat products

Heaven - fresh baked bread, butter and a good Stilton, bottle of Barolo
Hell - kimchi, offal, coffee

Heaven- soft boiled egg with toasted soldiers
Caramelized salted mixed nuts

Hell- mashed potato (gives me the boak)
Seafood

Heaven: crispy goose fat roast potatoes with gravy or creamed spinach with seabass.
Hell: sushi or caviar.
