Anyone else not drinking tonight?

I'm not pregnant or ill, just don't fancy it really. Had 4 gin and tonics last night and feel a bit hungover after those still. I'm planning on drinking sparkling water and feeling fresh in the morning hopefully.

To everyone on this thread who's not drinking tonight (everyone except me)
It's bad luck not to have a drink in our hand at 12 to toast in the New Year
🥂🥂🥂🥂 😂😂

HazelBite · 31/12/2021 19:49

Haven't had alcohol for about 2 years now, I have liver problems so have to watch what I eat and drink, was never much of a drinker anyway , honestly can't see the attraction.

Daisychainsandglitter · 31/12/2021 20:03

Me neither and I love a drink. DH has covid and I think I have the start of a sore throat so don't want to make myself feel anymore rubbish by having a drink if I'm likely to test positive for covid tomorrow.

L0uby1 · 31/12/2021 20:09

Bloody hell!! Such fun😂

yoshiblue · 31/12/2021 20:32

Been sober since March 1st so won't be drinking. I've had such a good Christmas personally not drinking - more refreshed and no hangovers, headaches, sluggishness.

I'll be heading out for a NY's walk first thing tomorrow too!

edwinbear · 31/12/2021 20:41

I’m not either. DH is working so it’s just me and DC at home, I’ve drunk so much over Christmas I can’t summon up any enthusiasm for it. Looking forward to waking up fresh tomorrow morning.

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 31/12/2021 21:03

I'm heading out early tomorrow for a long walk to see in the new year. To get honest I've had too many boozy nights recently. It was fun at the time but it doesn't appeal tonight

No.I had a few drinks last night and am babysitting grandchild!!Already in bed Happy New Year Smile

Gertie75 · 31/12/2021 21:08

I've got wine and cider in the fridge but can't be bothered to drink it, I like the idea of drinking more than the actual drinking.

It's still a lovely nye with the family and I won't be hungover or dehydrated tomorrow

Jasmine5552 · 31/12/2021 21:11

@Rainbows246

I’m working tomorrow so nope. I don’t sleep well after alcohol. We went out yesterday for food and a couple.
I am working tomorrow too and I find alcohol makes sleeping more difficult so I will be avoiding having a drink this evening.
bedheadedzombie · 31/12/2021 21:42

Me! Breastfeeding. Although I hardly ever drink anyway. Maybe a bottle of wine a year when not pregnant or breastfeeding. I don't care for it. Chocolate, now that's my downfall....

Mother2princess · 31/12/2021 22:55

I am even know I'm hungover from yesterday 🙃

DaphneDeloresMoorhead · 31/12/2021 23:05

Me. Been up since 4.30 (work) and will be going to bed in a minute

Floralnomad · 31/12/2021 23:11

I’ve been a non drinker for about 38 yrs so will definitely not be drinking tonight

zukiecat · 31/12/2021 23:12

Me,

I don't drink any alcohol at any time of the year.

So Pepsi Max or Irn Bru Xtra for me.

We like to have the traditional Scottish Steak Pie for lunch on NYD, so have got J20 Glitterberry to have with it.

Maverickess · 31/12/2021 23:18

No I'm not, no special reason why other than I just don't feel like it, and I don't feel like dealing with the downer/hangover tomorrow that is inevitable especially as I'm at work. I don't just zonk out like I used to anymore when I've had a drink and end up with a shit nights sleep.
Sure my younger years of NY eve's and the amount I drank then more than makes up for it 🙈

Cup of tea here ☕☺️

Maverickess · 31/12/2021 23:20

@TrainspottingWelsh

I'd planned to, but a family of cunts decided to feed one of the horses today, so I'm now home alone on colic watch. Fortunately it seemed to be mild and short lived, but I can't take the risk. Once we're past the point of possibly needing to drive I might have a few.
Hope all is well with the horse and it stays mild. People really don't get the damage they cause doing this.
Gilead · 31/12/2021 23:41

I haven’t drunk for years (ex Dh used to whine about the cost whilst spending hundreds on his stuff). I like waking up without the headache, dry mouth, feeling sick. Equally he was a controlling bastard and I had to be on my guard so I’m kind of scared of it too.

TrainspottingWelsh · 01/01/2022 00:22

@Maverickess yes thanks, all well. I was fairly confident by 7, pretty sure by about 9, and now confident enough to have a small glass. But despite logically knowing everything is fine I'll still be doing an extra check at 2am 'just because' Grin

Very lucky it was the most dominant, most spoilt and with a cast iron stomach that got there first. It wouldn't have occurred to her she needed to bolt them, so she was leisurely fishing out the carrots first from the two carrier bags of mixed veg thrown in the field. Could have been very different if she wasn't out because the rest would have scoffed the lot, and they aren't all as likely to get away with just mild colic. Odd how the lovely horse loving family that cares so much they ignored multiple signs weren't keen to hang around to meet the vet.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/01/2022 00:26

I don;t drink alcohol anyway , didn't even make a batch of Amaretto rich marzipan this year Xmas Shock

That's good, glad all is well now.
No, the 'horse lovers' don't seem so keen on the vet bills that their lack of knowledge cost, or sitting up with a sick horse all night either.
Hope the 2am check is all good 😊

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 01/01/2022 09:29

Morning all. I've just woken up and no headache or beer fear, yay! Happy New year

Happy New Year everyone 🎉🎉
I had a couple of drinks last night. I feel ok. We are going to my Sisters for dinner so I'll have a couple at her house. 🥂🥂

TrainspottingWelsh · 01/01/2022 20:01

@Maverickess yes, all good thank you Smile
