I saw there was a negative thread and didn’t want to go onto it with positive news and there might hopefully be others with a positive outlook for the coming year.

So what are you going to achieve, do, experience etc etc?

For myself I’m hopeful we’ll buy a house and I’m also getting married - a small ceremony but should be a good day.

DD is getting married. I shall be 50. Mortgage will be paid off. MIL will be 90. Youngest DD will be 21. Sounds like a red letter year!!

An end to chemo - mid-Feb,
A holiday with DS
A large annual bonus, going on the figures so far
A new roof (already spent the bonus Grin)

Lose the couple of stone I put on via lockdown. I'm 40 at the end of January and my looks have taken a battering by too much eating crap/alcohol.

Travel as much as time and money allow. I love taking myself off to different countries, gives me so much enjoyment.

Once my confidence is back up due to aforementioned weight loss, maybe dip my toe back into dating. Travelling would be better with a co-pilot. As would going to restaurants (which I also love doing).

Eventually change jobs.

devildeepbluesea · 29/12/2021 17:33

New job in February, massive salary increase.

Carry on with the health kick and lose some more chub.

New man? Might be nice!! (I'm single incidentally 🤣)

Sarahlou63 · 29/12/2021 17:33

I'll qualify as a hypnotist in early 2022 so I'll be building that business alongside my equine assisted training (teaching people to lead and communicate more effectively by leading and working with horses). If I could learn how to hypnotist a horse I'd be delighted (and very rich!)

I want to maintain my career after 2 promotions this year and now focus on building and maintaining a work life balance.

I want to go out to nice places with my toddler who has missed so much already.

And I want to build exercise into my daily routine so I have more energy and oomph!

Incywinceyspider · 29/12/2021 17:43

My second baby is due at the end of Feb and I'm getting married in June (third time lucky...was meant to be June 2020!).

Looking forward to a maternity leave that hopefully won't be ruined by lockdown.

TheLadyGrayson · 29/12/2021 17:44

So nice to read all these! I am finally getting married and hope to carry on with the fitness and weight loss progress I’ve made this year 🥳 I’m so ready for 2022.

Wiglio · 29/12/2021 17:44

Wishing you all the best for your treatment @TwoBigNoisyBoys
Hope you have the year you want

EarPlugAfficionado · 29/12/2021 17:48

Start a new uni course, do garage conversion, roof conversion on the conservatory, celebrate my kids’ birthdays and the end to all Covid restrictions by summer!!

Squiff70 · 29/12/2021 17:49

If all goes well, a new baby in Summer!

ILoveSushi12345 · 29/12/2021 17:52

Absolutely fuck all I imagine. As per. Sorry

Hen2018 · 29/12/2021 18:02

I’m going to lose 2.5 stones. I’ve done it 3 or 4 times before and don’t find it too difficult - I just can’t keep it off long term.

I’m hoping to move house, finances permitting. I’m still in my “starter” home.

It’s going to be quite a big year for my children (one leaving SEND college so no idea what will be next).

Hen2018 · 29/12/2021 18:05

@SerenTarot my oldest does cycling then solo camping, if you want me to let you know his YouTube name! Not abroad (yet) but 50 miles + a day, tent and camping stove type trips.

FurForksSake · 29/12/2021 18:11

If my DBS comes through in time, a new job in January. Please, please let it come through. I'll be gutted if I have to retract my resignation and lose a job due to the time of year delaying paperwork. I also need to sort out my anxiety...

Iamblossom · 29/12/2021 18:12

I hope we can go on the 3 holidays I have booked. That would be really amazing.

I hope we can do the extension we have been planning for 5 years. That would be life changing for us.

I need to sort my work out. Coasting, and need to piss or get off the pot

WakeUpLockie · 29/12/2021 18:12

Our last baby, and hopefully the start of an extension, even if not completed this year! Also looking forward to 2 holidays, one abroad, but can’t be so sure about these!!!

I LOVE a new year 😃 love January.

WakeUpLockie · 29/12/2021 18:15

Wow!! That is epic!!! Fingers crossed for all your celebrations - good job it wasn’t the past 2 years!!
Alayalaya · 29/12/2021 18:16

My husband is getting a promotion and my son is starting a new preschool. Me: Nothing new. I exist only to facilitate others, to drive my son to nursery and cook my husbands dinner and do his laundry. But there doesn’t exist a painless method of suicide so I have to keep doing it.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 29/12/2021 18:22

Some things I’m hoping will happen in 2022:

  • Move to a bigger house
  • Change of career for me
  • Take control of our finances and build up our savings again after my maternity leave wiped them out
  • Go on holiday to Disneyland Paris with our DDs after having the last two holidays cancelled
Opus17 · 29/12/2021 18:44

Weeks away from finishing my master, then I'm taking 18 months to just spend time with DH and DS. I can't wait for a slower paced life for a little while.
Big family holiday next summer too which has been put off 2 years.. here's hoping it'll go ahead this time

Simonjt · 29/12/2021 18:46

Our little one is coming home, hopefully introductions will be over by mid January and we’ll be allowed to bring her home if there aren’t any delays. My son is very excited about being a big brother.

My husband turns 30, we have a party and a holiday planned, so that depends on both covid and how settled our daughter is 🤞🏽 it can go ahead.

My son turns seven, that seems old and far too grown up ☹️ hopefully I can go back to our little tradition of spending his birthday weekend at Disney Paris. If not we’re hoping Dinosnores will be up and running as I know he would love that.

My cousin is having another baby in March, they have recently moved back to the UK so it will be lovely to spend more time together.

Bagadverts · 29/12/2021 18:52

What a lovely thread. I’m job the other thread as well but good to hear that there are positive things happening as well in 2022.

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 29/12/2021 18:53

Hopefully survive teacher training, graduate this summer and fingers crossed my placement FE college takes me on.

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 29/12/2021 19:17

Thank you @Wiglio 🥰 just putting one foot in front of the other at the moment, hoping to get a bit of control back soon!
